What do you do when people stop buying records? Sell books about them of course. Rough Trade has/is issued/ing a series of books on all-time great and influential records like VU & Nico, Unknown Pleasures, Forever Changes, and coming up, Loveless and Marquee Moon. I guess the question is who the hell wants to READ about these records? What else can you even say? Besides the fact that Amazon is now peeking in my windows at night and reading my email.

Phi. The Golden Ratio. It is found everywhere in nature.
The Greeks said it was divine.
Here is a BBC radio program about it.
Phi was also discussed on All Things Considered.
These animations show exactly how and why seeds patterns use phi.
Here is some information about laying out a page using golden ratios.
Eisenstein divided The Battleship Potemkin using the golden section.
Le Corbusier used it constantly in his architecture.
This is only a tiny fragment of where you will find phi when you start looking.
Here is some software for Windows XP to help you implement the golden section in your design.

How to make a tv commercial that I will like:
Psyop pretty much rules the world as far as stylish, cg commercials that make you say “oh my god what was that” go.
Turnpike has some hilarious stuff that I’ve never seen before. Check out the Nutrigrain and Budweiser spots at least.

Processing is a new language “created to teach fundamentals of computer programming within a visual context and to serve as an electronic sketchbook.” Short, sexy, open source programs with outstanding results.
