I used to be a firm believer that there was no such thing as a bad time to take a nap, but 10:00pm is a bad time to take a nap.

I’m hoping that a sort of task list will get my things done that I need to get done.
I already talked to Bob about this but a few summers ago I really felt something along the lines of cross-pollination of ideas that I haven’t come across since. Let’s exchange ideas more. I’m looking for new pathways.

I’ve been getting the feeling lately that culture is sadly overrated. I’m not even talking about culture, like our culture like Nascar and flags and pie and stuff, I don’t think anyone is rating that too highly. I’m talking about what is considered culture, art, the output of our society, what we hold up as our greatest achievements.
What does it mean when the best stuff makes you realize how absurd existance is with its own absurdity. Does that make sense?
Let me try to explain better.
Living in an urban environment or whatever, there are advantages blah blah, but I’m exposed to more “culture.” Right? I can go down the street to museums, see movies that only play in some places all that, talk to people who also find this to be important in their own lives. However, what I find to be the end of the line (I don’t know if this were an essay or something I’d provide examples here like in art Duchamp, Picabia or Ernst, or Breton, Beckett, Sartre yeah yeah all that) the end of modern, one of the things that summed life up is that to truly understand something is to understand its absurdity. Not it’s categorization, name, attributes, parts, whatever, but to understand how impossible to understand it will always be. In pointing that out you get the added benefit of tearing down things built up on stupid prentensions like art, literature, government, knowledge, humanity, etc. but hey, we’re way past all that so lets get over it.
Stupid post.
